Sudha Sinha Writes to Manoj Das Gupta

Ashramite: "After speaking with you, I have peace of mind. One request. Please don't reveal my name."

Myself: "Why this secrecy?"

Ashramite: "Because if Manoj Das Gupta comes to know that I am raising such questions, he will stop my food, expel me from the Ashram. With what face shall I go back to my village which I have renounced as my house. Sudha-di, I don't want to go away fom Ashram. I like to stay here." (extract, read full letter below)

Manoj Das Gupta

On 25.03.2012 a young candid inmate of the Ashram had a talk with me. After giving you a report of our conversation, I will put a question at the end of this letter, expecting a reply from you, failing which I will conclude that you don't have an answer.

Ashramite: "Sudha-di, I would like to know something from you. Peter says that Sri Aurobindo did not get any Adesh to go to Chandernagore. My mind is very disturbed at this statement. Why does he speak such nonsense....?"

Myself: "Don't be disturbed. Let him babble. But tell me what you think.

Ashramite: "I understand that Sri Aurobindo received an Adesh...."

Myself: "Okay, it is very good that you believe in it. But what do your friends think?"

Ashramite: "They all believe that Sri Aurobindo left for Chandernagore immediately after he received a divine Adesh."

Myself: "Why do you or your friends believe that Sri Aurobindo received a divine Adesh?"

Ashramite: "Because He Himself said so."

Myself: "Very good! Now tell me how you came to Sri Aurobindo Ashram."

Ashramite: "My uncle was a devotee here – an old sadhak from the Mother's time – he used to take books from here. I found them wonderful from my very childhood. And after some time I began to feel as if I was being called to Pondicherry."

Myself: "It means you received an Adesh!"

Ashramite: "It could be."

Myself: "When ordinary human beings like you and me can receive an Adesh, then why not the Avatar himself (who has come at a crucial turning point of the human evolution) cannot have a connection with the Divine?"

Ashramite: "Precisely! That is why I am asking who is Peter to refute this. I hear that he was a school dropout and a taxi-driver, so how did he enter the Archives of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, and started calling himself editor and historian. He has even lied that he was the founder of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram Archives. Why did not anybody oppose him?"

Myself: "He was opposed. I did it because I sensed that this man was uneducated and was working here with a hidden motive. But I opposed him after a long time. Long before me, eminent people such as Jugal-da and Pranab-da opposed him."

Ashramite: "He was still not removed? What was the reason for not removing him even after persons like Jugal-da and Pranab-da opposed him? I think that there is some plan behind it. Historian! How can an uneducated person become a historian? How could this man dare to disprove Sri Aurobindo's own words?"

Myself: "Firstly, he is a deceptive impersonator who is adept at the art of fooling people – such cheats can be found in this world. Naturally, he does not have the intellectual capacity of a scholar. He is well versed in stealing other people's precious work and mixing and twisting it in his own way.  Secondly, he is not a historian. To be a historian, one has to be well-educated, wise, free from all prejudice and be endowed with a knowledge that gives an insight into the past. A historian is a great man! Peter, who is uneducated, foolish and a hater of Indian culture is a man who cannot even understand the present, leave alone the past. He does not even know what kind of suicidal mission he has undertaken. Not only his visa has expired, but he has lost all sense of shame. Not only he is staying here unlawfully, but he has surpassed all limits of shame."

Ashramite: "I hear that he befools yound girls and seduces them."

Myself: "Yes, this is another aspect of his loose character. But your main question was that why did he refute Sri Aurobindo's Adesh by all kinds of lies. Perhaps you might be knowing that Amal Kiran had disproved his argument. Amal Kiran was open to Sri Aurobindo and the Mother's force and whoever is open to their force will see the truth as truth only, he will never participate in this conspiracy of falsifying the truth."

I like to stay here."

Myself: "I will not disclose your name to anybody, certainly not to Manoj Das Gupta, and not even to my friends. But I will make it known to everybody the question you have raised because it is beneficial to the Ashram. Now you can go, let me do my work."

Manoj Das Gupta, I ask on behalf of this candid young man as to whether this conspiracy to show that Sri Aurobindo's Adesh was false is part of your research through which your sponsored group of impostors is busy earning black money? Or is it that with the help of those who hate India and want to break up the Ashram, you wish to  spread confusion and falsehood on the spiritual legacy of Sri Aurobindo and perpetrate an even greater destruction?

  1. "Not only his visa has expired"

When Indians or citizens of other countries lose their visas and appear however temporarily to be of illegal status in the US, they get deported or put into prison and suffer terribly through it all.

Peter is enjoying what they call 'White privilege' or American privilege or both in India. Money and political power are at the root of these privileges and must be opposed.
